Origins

During the pandemic, Jacques Labello began keeping a series of personal journal entries in response to the events leading up to and following his wife’s psychotic breakdown. As he attempted to make sense of these deeply destabilizing experiences, he started recording his daily reflections, vivid dreams, symbolic impressions, and synchronistic events that seemed to accompany this period of psychological upheaval and transformation.

It was during this time that he immersed himself in the work of Carl Gustav Jung, particularly the Collected Works, while simultaneously reopening the Bible and returning to his long-standing interest in mythology and symbolic traditions. Through this convergence of lived experience, dream material, Jungian psychology, biblical symbolism, Greek mythology, and Arthurian Grail lore, a broader symbolic framework gradually began to emerge. Throughout this inner journey, one theme increasingly stood at the center of his reflections: the emergence of the Divine Feminine and the mysterious way in which it appeared to guide and orient his psychological and spiritual transformation.

The result is Soul Amplification, a work exploring feminine wisdom and the transformative dynamics of the soul through an intricate symbolic network inspired by these traditions. Blending autobiographical reflection with symbolic interpretation, the book traces an inner journey shaped by the search for psychic wholeness. At its core, Soul Amplification investigates the process of individuation and the reconciliation of opposites, revealing how personal crisis can become the catalyst for deeper spiritual insight and inner transformation.

What is amplification ?

In Jungian psychology, amplification is a method of reading a dream image, vision, or symbol by widening the field around it rather than reducing it too quickly to one private explanation. Jung describes it as moving outward from the image into related material from myth, religion, folklore, alchemy, art, history, and other symbolic traditions, so the image’s energy and meaning can become clearer without being flattened into a single literal interpretation. In that sense, amplification is a disciplined way of letting a symbol “speak more fully” while staying anchored to the original image.

This is tied to Jung’s idea of the collective unconscious: beneath our individual psychology lies a shared layer of archetypal patterns that appear across cultures and eras, often through recurring images and stories. Jung also used synchronicity to name meaningful coincidences between inner experience and outer events, connections that feel significant without being explained by ordinary causation. Amplification therefore does not treat a symbol as random or merely subjective; it asks what larger human pattern it belongs to, and what deeper layer of the psyche it may be pointing toward.

Soul Amplification is a book that shows how signs, symbols, and synchronicities constellate into a living web of meaning. In the opening chapter, the central vision is a symbol that gathers force throughout the book, revealing the presence of an inner feminine principle guiding the soul through fragmentation toward wholeness.

The title suggests that the soul enlarges itself by radiating outward through these interconnected forms of meaning, like the concentric ripples on the book’s cover spreading from the central rose. One image becomes many echoes, and those echoes return to deepen and illuminate the original center.
